The Project

Mercure en Lion is an art sales platform built around a single, transparent economic rule: every work on the platform carries the same price, regardless of format, size, or medium. That price rises by a fixed multiplier with each acquisition, across the entire platform. Every acquirer enters at a documented price. The acquisition curve on the homepage is the public record of that rise — collective, irreversible, visible to all.

The platform is not a gallery. It does not curate by market value or institutional recognition. It makes the construction of value explicit, and places the acquirer inside that construction.

The Artist

Adriane Morard (b. Switzerland) is a visual artist based in Brussels. Her practice spans painting, relief, video, and installation, with a sustained focus on gold — specifically the XVIth century water-based gold leafing technique traditionally used in icon-making. Working at the intersection of archaic materials and contemporary power structures, she traces the stratifications embedded in dominant narratives: economic, symbolic, social.

Her work has been shown internationally, including at BBA Gallery (Berlin), Aspex Gallery (Portsmouth), GlogauAir (Berlin), Kunsthaus Langenthal, Camden Arts Centre (London), Slade Research Centre (London), Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), and Galerie Passage de Retz (Paris). She has participated in residencies and workshops across Europe and internationally, including programs curated by Thomas Hirschhorn and Young Hae Chan Heavy Industries.

She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Bern University of the Arts and a diploma in Multimedia Conception from ERACOM, Lausanne.
